Over the years Cindy Pearl has developed core competencies in strategic and operational leadership, heading teams of senior consultants, auditors, and business advisors servicing both governments and private sector clients in an assortment of assignments largely focused on sustainable job creation and entrepreneur development.

In her work as speaker and discussion moderator, Cindy Pearl has traversed the globe to participate on youth forums and high level discussions with an assortment of business, traditional, and political leaders. Her versatility has enabled her to tactically navigate complex conversations and draw out clear outcomes and next steps.

A pivotal milestone in the earlier years was her nomination at the 2016 African Achievers Awards under the category of Excellence in Leadership. Following this, she has since received numerous awards and recognitions from organisations across the African continent, and perhaps her most cherished remains her ambassadorship with Brand South Africa, the official government marketing agency for the Republic of South Africa.

Increasingly over the years, public speaking and engaging in strategic discussions became ambiguous to the work Pearl has been involved. As a result, she has been on numerous stages delivering talks and presentations centred around SME and youth development, particularly as levers to solving the unemployment challenges faced across the world.

Since 2015 Pearl has tactically moderated discussions, from high level sessions with business and political leaders to panels with youth entrepreneurs and innovators. This work has seen her traverse most of Africa’s regions, China, and parts of Europe to participate in some of the world’s most notable gatherings.

Entrepreneur

Certainly amongst South Africa’s most notable young leaders, Pearl sits as Managing Director of The Business Development Agency (Pty) Ltd, a professional services company that focuses on the provision of consultancy and advisory services. The company provides tailormade business solutions to assist companies achieve their strategic objectives.

Through the agency, Pearl and her team of highly experienced consultants have worked with numerous public, private and multilateral organisations such as the World Bank Group in assignments focused on sustainable job creation.

Social Activist

The social and economic development of people has been the cornerstone of what Pearl believes is her life’s mission. Over the years she has been involved in countless community projects and volunteer work primarily through the Africa80 Foundation, a not-for-profit organisation registered in South Africa and with a youth network in over 30 African countries.

The foundation’s core purpose is the development of young African leaders through various projects under the four adopted SDG pillars: Quality Education, Gender Equality, Climate Action, and Decent Work & Economic Growth.

Ambassador

In the year 2016 Pearl received the honor of becoming one of South Africa’s Play Your Part ambassadors for her long standing efforts in promoting business in the country.

This accolade was bestowed upon her by Brand South Africa, the official government owned marketing agency of the Republic of South Africa with a mandate to build the country’s brand reputation, in order to improve its global competitiveness.

As an ambassador Pearl has accomplished numerous initiatives over the years from SME development workshops and conferences to scholarship fundraising initiatives and gender equity campaigns and initiatives.
